Sam Alderson is the Founder and Director of Alderson & Co Consultants, a Brighton-based construction and property consultancy. With over 24 years’ experience, he provides Quantity Surveying, Employer’s Agent, Project Management, Contract Administration, and RICS Home Survey services across residential and commercial sectors.
Sam has extensive experience delivering refurbishment, new build, and alteration projects, providing clear, commercially focused advice to help clients manage cost, risk, and procurement. He also undertakes RICS Home Surveys, offering independent, practical guidance to property purchasers across Brighton, Hove, and the surrounding areas.

Darren Tancred is a Partner at Alderson & Co Consultants and brings over 22 years’ experience across property development, contracting, and construction consultancy. Darren’s experience spans the full development lifecycle, including site acquisition, planning, delivery, and asset management. He has led contracting and consultancy teams delivering projects for a wide range of clients, including banks, housing associations, and private developers, covering distressed assets through to large-scale residential schemes of up to 160 homes. He provides Employer’s Agent, Quantity Surveying, and construction consultancy services, with particular expertise in residential and care home developments.

Gemma manages the administration and coordination of the residential survey service at Alderson & Co Consultants. She is responsible for overseeing bookings, liaising with clients and agents, and ensuring surveys are arranged and delivered efficiently.
She acts as the primary point of contact throughout the process, coordinating access, managing schedules, and supporting clients from initial enquiry through to report delivery. Her organised and proactive approach helps ensure a smooth and professional experience for clients.

Jodie is responsible for business development and client account management at Alderson & Co Consultants. She works closely with new and existing clients, helping to build strong working relationships and supporting the continued growth of the business.
Toby

Toby is a Partner at Alderson & Co Consultants and provides Quantity Surveying and commercial management services across residential and commercial projects. He brings extensive experience managing project costs from early feasibility through to final account, ensuring financial control is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
His role includes cost planning, procurement, tender management, contract administration support, and financial reporting. Toby works closely with clients, design teams, and contractors to ensure projects are commercially well managed and delivered in line with client objectives.
He is known for his practical, detail-focused approach and ability to manage cost risk effectively, providing clients with clear, reliable commercial advice at every stage of their project.
